An introduction: I am Tim McGrattan. Scots-Irish ancestry hence the Highland name.

I started being interested in marksmanship while in the US Marines. But knew nothing of competing beyond annual qualifications, I was almost sent back to the range as a Coach, but a new PFC to our section had beaten me by one point and I was needed at my "day job" (MOS 4063 COBOL Programming)

Fast forward a few years till I was out of active duty and spent a couple years as a contract programmer (a "hired gun"), coming back home I heard the local Marine Corps League Detachment had a rifle team. Sign me up!

Then came one gun club membership, then another, then Highpower Committee Chair where most know me from. And I've been competing at Camp Perry each year since 2006.

How'd I get the idea to make slings?....Well, watching a Master Saddler on TV working on various leather items, I thought one day "Ya know, I could probably make a sling".
